About The Position
The Patient Transport role at Northwest Community Hospital is a Per Diem position focused on the evening shift, requiring flexibility with weekends and holidays. The primary responsibility is the safe and efficient physical transport of patients within the hospital, including admissions, discharges, and transports to and from diagnostic testing departments. This role may also involve transporting equipment and supplies to support departmental and hospital operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR BLS (American Heart Association healthcare provider) within 3 months of hire
- AED training within 3 months of hire
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact in a positive manner with patients, their families, nursing staff and physicians.
- Verbal and written English skills necessary to clearly and effectively communicate information.
- Organizational skills necessary to prioritize and complete transport tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to use and apply correct body mechanics when positioning and transporting patients.

Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient physical transport of patients within the hospital.
- Perform admission and discharge transports.
- Transport patients to and from diagnostic testing departments and return trips.
- May be required to transport equipment and supplies necessary to support the mission of the department and/or the hospital.
