About The Position

This is a Per Diem position for the Evening Shift (3pm-11:30pm) with weekend and holiday requirements, located at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role involves the safe and efficient physical transport of patients within the hospital, including admissions, discharges, and transports to and from diagnostic testing departments. The position may also require transporting equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• CPR BLS (American Heart Association healthcare provider) within 3 months of hire
• AED training within 3 months of hire
• The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact in a positive manner with patients, their families, nursing staff and physicians.
• The verbal and written English skills necessary to clearly and effectively communicate information.
• The organizational skills necessary to prioritize and complete transport tasks in a timely manner.
• Responds positively to changes and shows willingness to learn new ways to accomplish tasks in an efficient manner.
• The ability to use and apply correct body mechanics when positioning and transporting patients.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient physical transport of patients within the hospital.
• Perform admission and discharge transports.
• Transport patients from their units to diagnostic testing departments and back.
• May be required to transport equipment and supplies necessary to support the mission of the department and/or the hospital.
