About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is seeking full-time Patient Transport Technicians for their Champaign location. AMT is a leading provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance and patient transport services in Central and Western Illinois, and parts of Iowa. As a private, not-for-profit organization, AMT is dedicated to community benefit. In this role, you will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer (IPT) team, ensuring compassionate, safe, and efficient transfers for adult behavioral health patients between facilities across the state. This position is based in Champaign and involves variable shifts and hours during the week, including alternating weekends. Be aware that transports are assigned throughout scheduled shifts, and technicians often work beyond their scheduled end times.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Valid Illinois Driver's license required
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 25 pounds (subject to physical exam)
Successful completion of AMTs Management of Aggressive Behavior Training

Responsibilities

Supervise patients during transportation
Provide proper de-escalation and aggression prevention techniques as required
Transports select MedValet patients as needed
Assist facility staff with escorting both the patient and belongings to and from the vehicle
Assures completion and accuracy of all AMT and patient contact paperwork
Responsible for all equipment and supplies per AMT vehicle check-off sheet and inventory requirements
Maintain current, State of Illinois driver's license
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Present and promote a positive company image
