Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree in healthcare preferred
- Experience in EMS, dispatch, healthcare logistics, or patient care in fast-paced settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage patient transport, ensuring proper medical support and working with EMS, ambulette services, and payors for authorization.
- Triage requests by urgency and monitor hospital bed capacity to ensure timely, safe transfers.
- Maintain clear communication, verify medical needs are met, and support transport staff during operations.
- Record all transport details, update patient charts, and escalate delays or issues as needed.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and confidentiality; participate in audits and training.
- Coordinate with departments across the hospital and communicate special patient needs to transport teams.
- Resolve transport-related issues quickly to minimize care disruptions and maintain smooth operations.
