The Patient Services Representative provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. This role involves greeting and registering patients, coordinating appointments, answering multiple phone lines, distributing communications, resolving patient questions regarding referrals, billing, and services, and scheduling future appointments and tests. The representative also notifies patient care areas of patient arrivals, manages waiting patients, identifies insurance types, and performs other related duties. Additionally, the role ensures accurate entry of billing information, reviews encounter forms, enters patient charges, and batches and balances encounter forms. In Medical Record Services, the representative upholds standards for accurate and timely medical records, releases information according to policy, ensures the availability of necessary records and forms, maintains medical records, and maintains confidentiality of patient information.
