The Patient Support Technician functions as a collaborative member of the health care team in partnership with and under supervision of the Registered Nurse utilizing principles of Relationship-Based Care. They perform direct patient care to a specific group of patients and coordinate activities which relate to the flow of unit processes. The 4G Medical-Surgical Overflow Unit is a 26-bed unit that cares for a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical conditions, including renal failure, respiratory failure, diabetes, sepsis, and heart failure.
