About The Position

The Aaron Center has been a premier provider of outpatient mental health services in the Scranton area since 1997. We are seeking a dedicated full-time Patient Support Associate to serve as a liaison for potential and current patients. This role involves addressing compliance issues, resolving patient concerns, and ensuring chart compliance according to guidelines.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with patients, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Computer skills for electronic scheduling, billing, and future software use.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, gathering necessary information for services.
  • Make reminder calls for upcoming appointments and notify patients of co-pay requirements.
  • Collect co-pays and payments for both in-person and virtual appointments.
  • Scan insurance cards and photo IDs into patient charts.
  • Reconcile daily finances and complete the “cash bag” at the end of the business day.
  • Check voicemail and return calls before the end of the day.
  • Monitor and forward emails to appropriate personnel or upload information to patient charts.
  • Secure the building at the end of the day
  • Answer incoming calls and gather vital patient information, documenting appropriately.
  • Review and present intake information.
  • Verify patient demographics.
  • Identify patient needs and provide support or referrals if necessary.
  • Ensure encounter forms and consents are signed at check-in.
  • File documents to patient charts and route non-billable items appropriately.
  • Prepare Coordination of Care (COC) request letters.
  • Document non-billable patient contact and declines of COC.
  • Collaborate with therapists to re-engage patients.
