About The Position

The Patient Solutions Care Specialist is responsible for remote setup and monitoring of sleep and respiratory equipment. The position is also responsible for communicating with clinical VA staff via phone, email, cloud-based software or fax and monitoring compliance software and offering therapy recommendations to appropriate VA staff. This position is required to interact daily with teammates, staff at VA facilities and individual veterans.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem analysis and problem resolution capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Power Point and TEAMS as well as ZOOM
  • Respiratory Therapist (RT); credentialed, in good standing required.
  • Able to be licensed in multiple states is also required
  • Must obtain applicable state licensures within 30 days of identified need, as determined by the organization, and maintain all active licensures in good standing throughout employment

  • The job requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 15 pounds as needed to demonstrate equipment and perform job-related tasks.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
  • With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
  • Must follow all employee health and safety cleaning protocols as established by the work location.

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot medical equipment such as CPAP and other Home Respiratory Equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing new service programs for the VA and working with our team to operationalize
  • Monitors cloud-based software for notifications of new patients, escalations directed to First Nation Group and compliance reporting back to VA
  • Communicates with VA clinical staff regarding services orders
  • Employs clinical knowledge in starting a veteran on therapy, able to identify any comorbid condition that could lead to therapy contraindications and communicating those concerns back to the ordering VA physician
  • Contacts veterans to complete remote setups of sleep and respiratory equipment and therapies
  • Inputs therapy notes into cloud-based software
  • Makes remote adjustments to therapy as prescribed by an ordering physician at VA
  • Follow all policies and procedures to meet accreditation guidelines
