About The Position

The Patient Services Specialist at Atrium Health Northpark Family Medicine is a full-time position responsible for creating an excellent patient experience through exemplary customer service. This role involves managing various front-desk activities, including patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, cash collection, and ensuring accurate and confidential patient information is maintained. The specialist will also assist with billing functions and ensure proficiency in emergency codes and healthcare regulations. A key aspect of the role is encouraging patient use of front-end technology during registration and monitoring inventory of medications and emergency equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
  • Front desk practice experience preferred.

  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience.
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process.
  • Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter.
  • Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.
