About The Position

This is a combined posting for an Associate Patient Services Specialist, Patient Services Specialist and Senior Patient Services Specialist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. Under the general supervision of the MGR PATIENT ACCESS/SCHEDULING, performs patient registration and pre-registration of scheduled accounts, verify insurance coverage, benefits, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; Participates in the collection of up-front revenue due the facility and provides quality customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Associate Patient Services Specialist: 6 months of Customer service experience.
• Patient Services Specialist: 2 years of General office experience, which includes public interaction. 1 year of patient access experience.
• Senior Patient Services Specialist: 2 years General office experience with public interaction. 3 years Patient access experience.

Nice To Haves

• Associate Patient Services Specialist: General office experience.
• Patient Services Specialist: Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience. Medical setting experience.
• Senior Patient Services Specialist: Courses in keyboarding and office practices. Courses in medical terminology. Upon hire: Epic Credentialing Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience. Medical setting experience.

Responsibilities
