We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Pineville team. This position is Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm. The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.

Requirements

High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree
Excellent customer service skills
Working knowledge of insurance
Medical terminology
Health Care
Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Medical Records Management

Nice To Haves

Epic/EMR background a plus
Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.

Responsibilities

Greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity/EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.
Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit.
Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments.
Performs cashier duties as directed by the Practice Manager to include posting of charges, collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.
Follows process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.
