About The Position

Under general supervision and according to prescribed procedures, greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims. Prepares paper work necessary for the patient visit. Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed by the Practice Manager to include posting of charges, collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due. Follows process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested. At OrthoCarolina, our team is our greatest asset and the foundation of our success. We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Pineville team. This position is Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm. The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of insurance
  • High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree
  • Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
