About The Position

The Patient Services Specialist in Family Medicine at WFBMG Hugh Chatham: Chatham Medical Park - Family Medicine is a full-time position responsible for creating an excellent patient experience through caring and compassionate customer service. This role requires exemplary interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families in sensitive situations, critical thinking, and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, cash receipting, and desk activities, ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience. They will also encourage patient use of front-end technology, maintain confidential patient information, assist with billing functions, and monitor inventory of medications and emergency equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Computer experience required.
• Customer relations experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
• Front desk practice experience preferred.

• Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience.
• Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process.
• Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter.
• Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct to appropriate billing office.
• Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
• Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.
