Additionally, the Patient Services Representative schedules patient appointments, manages the Epic registration check-in process, verifies and updates patient demographics and insurance information, collects necessary documents, and handles co-payments and other patient obligations. They are also responsible for cashiering functions, processing payments, balancing cash drawers, and assisting patients with MyChart signup and activation. The role requires safeguarding patient privacy, prepping daily routes for appointments, reviewing work queues for registration errors, utilizing Epic waitlists, and managing no-shows and cancellations.
