About The Position

The Patient Services Representative performs general business office functions that may include charge capture and over-the-counter payment posting; insurance verification and eligibility; insurance pre-authorization/pre-certifications; and counseling patients and families on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery. This role ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained from patients and entered into the billing system accurately and timely. The representative registers patients, collects and revises patient insurance information, and collects co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of service. Additionally, the role involves posting approved adjustments to patient accounts, balancing receipts, reconciling daily work batches, and preparing an audit trail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two years minimum front office experience in a medical environment
