The Patient Services Liaison is the primary contact for ambulatory pharmacy access and affordability services. The role works with patients, clinic staff, providers, pharmacy teams, and payers to help patients obtain timely access to medication therapy, especially high-cost retail prescriptions and infusion therapies. The liaison provides expertise in retail pharmacy access and affordability, consults with clinic staff and physicians about appropriate pharmacy referrals, and collaborates with the health system client to support established marketing and business development plans that increase use of internal pharmacy services. The position facilitates benefits verification and prior authorization services, identifies patient assistance opportunities, coordinates prescription routing and delivery, and maintains communication and documentation across electronic health records, pharmacy dispensing systems, and other specified systems. The liaison works in assigned clinics and may also support clients from an approved remote location as needs dictate. The role may require extended hours to support clinic operations, patient medication access, and business plan objectives, as well as backup coverage for other assigned resources.
