Patient Services Coordinator - Sleep Center
About The Position
Sentara Independence, in Virginia Beach, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join the Sleep Center! This role is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care. The coordinator also manages activities for specific practices, including insurance verification, obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials. They maintain statistics and act as a liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
- Previous healthcare experience (Required)
- Two years’ experience in a healthcare environment
- Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position
Nice To Haves
- Two of the following skill levels are strongly preferred:
- Completion of a healthcare related certificate program
- Associate degree or higher
