Patient Services Coordinator - Sleep Center (Part Time)
About The Position
Sentara Belleharbour, in Suffolk, VA, is seeking a part time Patient Services Coordinator to join the Sleep Center! This role is part time, with flexible day shift hours between 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm. No weekends are required. A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care. This role also coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration and order transmission to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. The coordinator maintains statistics and acts as a liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
- Previous healthcare experience (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Two years experience in a healthcare environment
- Completion of a healthcare related certificate program
- Associate's Degree or higher
- Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position, etc
