About The Position

The Patient Services Associate (PSA) I is responsible for enhancing the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities for visits to the practice/department. This role primarily involves working at the front desk of an outpatient practice, verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The PSA I supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by ensuring prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors, maintaining an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms. Key duties include processing check-in and/or check-out, handling point-of-service activities, and scheduling patient appointments using EPIC. The associate will greet and interact with patients and visitors professionally, both on the phone and in person, maintain efficient practice flow, and escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate. Adherence to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards are essential. Other duties may be requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation is required, as team members travel to several ambulatory practice locations across Camden, Gloucester, and Burlington Counties in South Jersey.
  • Open availability (for full-time roles).

Responsibilities

  • Process arrival and departure activities associated with visits to the practice/department.

  • Support delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors.
  • Maintain an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms.
  • Process check in and/or check out activities.
  • Process point of service activities.
  • Schedule patient appointments via EPIC.
  • Greet and interact with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
  • Maintain efficient flow of practice.
  • Escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
