About The Position

Provides service to patient before, during or post-appointment with minimal guidance. Facilitates efficient workflow, supports appropriate use of technology, and engages in effective communication. Navigates complex patients to include scheduling with multiple services or coordination with outside facilities or providers. Primary Care providers serve as a trusted partner in patients’ overall health and wellness, delivering comprehensive, continuous care for individuals across all stages of life. Through both in-person and virtual care options, providers establish lasting relationships with patients, offering preventive care, annual wellness screenings, health education, chronic disease management, and coordination of care across specialties when needed. This role supports the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic pain, dementia, depression, joint injuries and pain, and diabetes. Providers work collaboratively to ensure accessible, patient-centered care while promoting long-term health outcomes and wellness.

Requirements

CUSTOMER SERVICE (Intermediate): A continuing focus on the needs and requirements of customers, anticipating their needs, remaining sensitive to customers while performing services for them, responsive to customer needs.
PATIENT SCHEDULING (Novice): The ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures and other office visits with various computer systems in the hospital or clinic.
PATIENT DOCUMENTATION (Novice): The ability to receive and record patient information.
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY & DOCUMENTATION (Novice): The ability to comprehend medical terminology and
APPOINTMENT & PRODECURAL SCHEDULING (Fundamental Awareness): The ability to coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures within various computer systems in the hospital.
1 year of relevant work experience
High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities.
Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages
Manages registration and patient work queues.
Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre-appointment orders and consults have been received and ready to view prior to patient visit.
Communicates with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately as applicable.
