About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Full Time Patient Service Specialist for their Dallas, TX (Day Neuro Hub). This entry-level position offers variable hours between Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. The role requires a customer service-oriented individual with strong attention to detail, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. The Patient Service Specialist will be responsible for various administrative and patient-facing tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the rehabilitation center.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Knowledge of insurance verification.
Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration.

Responsibilities

Check in and check out patients.
Verify insurance information.
Schedule patient appointments, working with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
Verify patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visits and explaining benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect patient responsibility payments at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
