About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and flexible Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to float between multiple outpatient clinics. This entry-level position requires a team player who can also work independently, consistently delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The role involves travel to various locations, with mileage reimbursement provided. The PSS will be responsible for a range of front office duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the rehabilitation centers.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

Check in and check out patients.
Verify insurance and obtain required authorizations.
Schedule patient appointments, working with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Explain patient benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect patient responsibility payments at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office organization, order supplies, and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
