The Patient Service Specialist will exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience. This role provides exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations. The specialist demonstrates critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment and possesses the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, and arrival/departure desk activities. The role also involves encouraging patient utilization of front-end technology, entering and maintaining confidential patient information, assisting with billing functions, and demonstrating proficiency in emergency codes and healthcare regulations. Additionally, the specialist will monitor inventory of medications and emergency equipment.
