About The Position

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital - Tucson Day Neuro Institute is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for a full-time, Monday-Friday position. Our comprehensive Day Neuro Rehabilitation Program offers a wide range of specialty services for individuals with acquired brain injuries, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, or other neurological conditions. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Data entry experience required.
Customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with staff members, supportive personnel, patients, physicians, and community members required.

Nice To Haves

Certified BLS preferred.
Two years in a medical office setting that requires multi-tasking preferred.
Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks including check-in, check-out, insurance verifications, scheduling, report generation, faxing, scanning, and other office duties in a fast-paced environment.
Provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff.
Coordinate patient appointments, working with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Verify patient insurance, obtain required authorizations before patient visits, and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect patient financial responsibility at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily, and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office organization, order supplies, and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
