Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and vendors upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and friendly environment
  • Efficiently check-in patients using office procedures, confirm all required information is recorded accurately
  • Verify and update patient information in the Practice Management system
  • Verify and update insurance information in the Practice Management system
  • Check for required PCP referrals, confirm their validity
  • Ensure POA and Minor Proxy Authorization documentation is on file, as necessary
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances due at the time of service
  • Obtain signatures for consents and authorizations
  • Address questions, concerns and feedback promptly and professionally
  • Educate patients about office hours, policies and services offered
  • Direct patients and visitors to appropriate locations or staff members for further assistance
  • Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, answering the phone, making copies and collecting necessary paperwork
  • Operating computer, photocopier, and fax machine
  • Using knowledge of insurance and referral requirements to accomplish daily tasks
  • Using knowledge of POAs and Guardianship to perform duties
  • Using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information and messages for physicians and staff
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
