About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Per Diem Patient Service Specialist (PSS) - Float to work in multiple outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves traveling to various clinic locations to provide essential administrative support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of insurance verification.
- Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration.
Responsibilities
- Check in and check out patients.
- Verify insurance and obtain required authorizations.
- Schedule patient appointments, working to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
- Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete and accurate in the electronic medical record.
- Explain patient benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
- Collect patient financial responsibility at each visit.
- Scan and maintain medical documents.
- Reconcile and post charges daily and complete other reporting for clean claim processing.
- Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
- Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
- Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
- Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
