About The Position

BJC Medical Group is hiring a full-time Patient Service Representative for its outpatient primary care practice at Northwest HealthCare in Florissant, Missouri. The role serves as the initial point of contact for front-office activity and helps direct patient flow. Duties include patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, maintaining patient financial records, and potentially operating the switchboard as needed. The position is 40 hours per week on the day shift, with no call, weekend, or holiday work. The position is benefit eligible. Medical office experience is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle telephone calls from patients and staff, forwarding calls that require triage.
• Perform receptionist duties with attention to detail and professionalism.
• Verify health insurance payment information and educate patients about applicable regulations; collect payments and record data.
• Enter service charges, including assigning diagnostic codes and entering physician- and clinic-related charges.
• Coordinate information with the Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected.
• Perform patient check-ins and appointment scheduling.
• Maintain patient financial records.
• Serve as a switchboard operator as needed.
• Help direct patient flow at the physician office.
