About The Position

This position is for a Patient Service Representative on a PRN (as needed) basis at FIRSTCHOICE PEDIATRICS in Johnson City, TN.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of grammar, punctuation and sentence structure

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a medical office or customer service position
• Basic knowledge of insurance and billing procedures, including ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding as applicable

Responsibilities

• Review demographics, insurance, and provider information, and update records accordingly
• Instruct new patients to complete all required paperwork and create new accounts in the computer system
• Obtain a copy of the patient’s insurance card and driver's license
• Update the electronic medical record system (EMR) and take patients’ photos
• Provide the patient with the SOFHA payment and privacy policy
• Answer patient questions and concerns
• Schedule/Reschedule patient appointments
• Collect payment and notate on the patient encounter form
• Route telephone calls and record/deliver messages accordingly
