About The Position

Outpatient Rehab at Rivers Edge is seeking a Patient Service Representative for a Per Diem position. This role involves providing clerical support and managing front desk operations, including patient registration, scheduling, medical record management, and fee collection. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain BLS Certification within first 90 days and maintain while in position.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a representative in all areas of clerical support.
• Assumes responsibility for all facets of front desk operations, including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering demographics and processing referrals.
• Retrieves and updates medical records.
• Collects fees and performs general clerical duties.
• Receives incoming telephone calls, directs inquiries as appropriate and takes messages.
• Receives and processes referrals from physician’s offices and manages referral tracking process.
• Performs required insurance verification activity when appropriate.
• Obtains insurance information through department processes in order to ensure that proper authorization requirements will be fulfilled.
• Schedules appointments for therapy evaluations and visits based on established guidelines.
• Completes the registration process, explains applicable policies to patient and assists patients with paperwork.
• Collects payments and charges from the patient at time of service.
• Maintains therapists’ schedules, optimizing effective scheduling of appointments.
