About The Position

BJC Medical Group is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative for their Family Medicine practice in Wentzville. This outpatient role involves working 40 hours per week on a day shift (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM) and is benefit eligible, with no call, weekends, or holidays required. The Patient Services Representative serves as the initial point of contact for front office activities, directing patient flow, performing check-ins, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient financial records, and potentially acting as a switchboard operator.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage
• Performs receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism
• Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on the applicable regulations; collects payments and records data
• Performs data entry of service charges, to include the assignment of diagnostic codes and the entering of all physician and clinic related charges
• Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected
