About The Position

The Radiation Oncology Patient Service Representative serves as the front desk registrar for Radiation Oncology and is responsible for validating the completeness and accuracy of patient account information. This role obtains all required consents, verifies insurance coverage and authorizations, and explains Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH) policies to patients as needed. The Patient Service Representative responds promptly to patient inquiries, greets patients upon arrival to BMH Radiation Oncology, initiates the registration process, and directs patients and visitors to the appropriate individual or department for assistance. The registrar is expected to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, uphold the behavioral standards and mission of Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and maintain a strong work ethic. This position is an integral member of the Radiation Oncology team and is expected to support both BMH Radiation Oncology departments. Flexibility with work location is required while maintaining a primary assigned location.

Requirements

  • Professional communication amongst patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to navigate various computer systems with ease.
  • Adaptability to changing office needs.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Type 25 WPM or more with 90% accuracy.
  • Proficient in navigating windows based systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communications.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public, physician offices, and co-workers.
