About The Position

Baystate Health, Western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a Full-time Patient Service Representative to join our experienced Gastro team in Springfield , MA. Baystate Health’s Patient Service Representatives perform a variety of different tasks throughout the day. This includes greeting patients, check in and check out and requesting copays. Responsibilities also include verifying insurances, answering telephones and faxing medical documents.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, required
At least 6 months in a medical office setting, preferred
Great interpersonal skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment a MUST
Medical terminology
Keyboard skills
Microsoft office products
Schedule systems
Medical records (electronic and paper)
Billing knowledge
Basic math skills
Language, reading and writing skills
Customer service skills

Responsibilities

Greeting patients
Check in and check out
Requesting copays

Answering telephones
