About The Position

University Physicians' Association is seeking a Patient Service Representative for University Cancer Specialists. The team member will float between the practice’s Sevierville, Lenoir City, Halls, and Blount offices. The position offers flexible scheduling during a Monday through Friday work week. The Patient Service Representative welcomes patients, supports registration and billing processes, helps maintain patient flow, answers registration or billing inquiries, schedules appointments, and scans documents into the electronic health record. Questions about medical care or treatment are referred to a medical assistant or physician. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Six months to one year of previous medical office experience.
Strong communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Time management skills.
Organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner.
Ensure patients complete forms required for the electronic health record and billing office.
Maintain patient demographic and insurance information, verify insurance eligibility, and collect co-pays.
Support good patient flow by processing patients promptly as they arrive at the front office.
Answer patient inquiries regarding registration information or billing questions.
Refer inquiries regarding medical care or treatment to a medical assistant or physician.
Schedule patients with the appropriate physician.
Scan documents into the electronic health record.
Perform other duties as assigned.
