About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in the care team, supporting providers, connecting with patients, and ensuring a seamless, compassionate experience. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, the PSR provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. The role also involves ensuring the entry of billing information at the time of service on the patient and payer, and accurate follow-up on missing information. Additionally, the PSR upholds the standards of the practice and the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years related customer service experience
  • Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
  • Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information.
