About The Position

The Patient Service Representative will register or pre-register all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services. This role involves verifying insurance coverage, obtaining necessary authorizations, and coordinating with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged. The representative will also request upfront payment of deposits from the responsible party and update the schedule for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis. This position operates in a fast-paced environment with numerous interruptions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Accurate spelling and attention to detail required
• Must be able to key 40 wpm
• Excellent communication skills and customer services skills required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred
• Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of third party reimbursement preferred

Responsibilities
