About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in the care team, supporting providers, connecting with patients, and ensuring a seamless, compassionate experience. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, the PSR is responsible for providing efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. This role also ensures the accurate entry of billing information at the time of service and accurate follow-up on missing information. Additionally, the PSR upholds the standards of the practice and medical group for accurate and timely medical records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients.
• Typically requires at least 1 year of experience in providing customer service that includes experience in patient scheduling, registration and department / medical clinic reception.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
• Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information.
• Upholds standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.
