We are hiring at Starling Physicians! This role involves greeting visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directing them appropriately. The Patient Service Representative will maintain an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provide excellent customer service to patients/families. They will promptly answer the telephone, direct calls, take accurate messages, and deliver them to the appropriate individual. This role also involves informing patients of delays in physician schedules and assisting with patient comfort during these times. The representative will post self-pay charges, collect payments, provide receipts, and accurately reconcile daily payments and billing slips. They will also open and close batches, reconcile collections, prepare deposits, and document corrections. Scanning insurance cards, processing insurance verifications, and updating patient accounts with demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms, and financial waivers are key responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes accurately scheduling appointments, using waitlists when applicable, confirming future appointments, and reviewing eligibility and phone reports. Scheduling and entering orders for diagnostic tests and procedures, working cooperatively with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff for timely pre-authorizations, and completing referrals according to departmental guidelines are also part of the job. Finally, the representative will effectively communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager promptly. General duties include performing various clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailings. Demonstrating flexibility with work schedules, covering for other staff, and following downtime procedures are also expected. Other job duties as required.
