Patient Service Representative/Insurance Verifier - Rehab Services
About The Position
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, this role is responsible for providing pre-registrations, registrations, and order management. This involves collecting, analyzing, and recording demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data from multiple sources, and obtaining other necessary information and signatures. The position also involves screening for third-party eligibility and entering medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment. A key aspect of this role is ensuring patient and family needs are met, and they understand the hospital’s revenue cycle expectations, including the resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options. This includes contacting third-party payers for verification of benefits and satisfaction of pre-certification requirements, coordinating with physician offices on financial, coding, and surgical scheduling processes, and ensuring compliance with payer requirements and registration correctness.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year experience of obtaining authorization
- One year experience verifying insurance benefits
- Knowledge with workers' compensation
- Knowledge of health insurances
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Nice To Haves
- One year call center experience
- Bilingual skills
