We are seeking a Patient Service Coordinator/Medical Assistant to join our DOM Clinical Operations team. This role involves providing friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to patients and providers, ensuring a positive patient experience. The position requires working collaboratively in a team environment, maintaining accurate patient information, and utilizing automated systems for scheduling, registration, check-in, and check-out. Responsibilities include scheduling tests, exams, and consultations, relaying preparation information to patients, and coordinating visits. The role also involves answering phones, monitoring voicemails, confirming appointments, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, obtaining pre-certifications, and informing patients about costs of care. Maintaining electronic patient charts, managing messages and result letters, handling faxes, and fulfilling medical records requests are also key duties. Additionally, the role includes completing Infection Control screens, providing efficient check-in/check-out services, and assisting with patient transportation and hospital admissions. As a Certified Medical Assistant (MA), the individual will participate in patient care under the direct supervision of a physician and in collaboration with the healthcare team. This includes displaying responsible behaviors, effective communication, and functioning as a team member. The MA reports to the clinic manager and is responsible for maintaining inventory of clinical supplies and equipment, monitoring expiration dates, and adhering to HEIC and EOC protocols for patient safety. Problem-solving skills related to patient care, acting as a role model for other medical assistants, and demonstrating competency in all patient care skills are essential. Specific MA duties include obtaining and recording vital signs, monitoring patient status, recognizing and reporting abnormal findings, reviewing medication lists, completing prescription refills, maintaining aseptic techniques, performing procedures according to policy, managing specimens, performing waived testing quality control, administering vaccinations, and implementing emergency procedures.
