The Lung Transplant Program at Massachusetts General Hospital uses the most cutting-edge, advanced therapies to treat patients with end-stage lung disease and deliver the best possible outcomes after transplantation. This role greets and assists patients, performing both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under minimal supervision. The Patient Service Coordinator III performs administrative duties related to patient visits including scheduling, check-in, and check-out duties at the highest proficiency level. They also perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office, make patient appointments, maintain appointment records, and assist callers with routine inquiries. This role processes patient billing forms, scans documents to the patient medical record/LMR, and acts as a "Super User" for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing assistance and training to others. They may perform more complex or specialized functions such as surgical scheduling or schedule changes/blocking at an advanced competency level. Additionally, they provide functional guidance to Office and Practice Assistants and, in conjunction with a Supervisor, oversee the daily activities of practice staff. This role is required to accept co-payments and handles, screens, and/or takes messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results. Other duties as assigned.
