The Patient Service Associate is responsible for the registration and scheduling process for complex patients. This role involves updating the system with registration, scheduling, and insurance information, and preparing patient disability and out-of-work/school paperwork. The associate will discuss financial obligations, explain regulatory forms, and answer related questions. They will work in multiple systems during patient-facing interactions and telephone call receipts to ensure accurate registration and support clinical workflow. This position requires an understanding of the practice and hospital's strategic plan, supporting plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives within the department's expectations and role. The associate will represent Albany Medical Center (AMC) and uphold the ideals and principles of their department, the Practice, the Hospital, and the Center, exemplifying Albany Med CARES guiding principles. A key aspect of this role is to champion an optimal patient experience and promote patient and employee safety as the top priority, ensuring a safe environment and promptly reporting issues, while understanding patient safety goals.
