The Patient Service Associate is responsible for the registration and scheduling process for complex patients. This role involves updating the system with registration, scheduling, and insurance information, preparing patient disability and out-of-work/school paperwork, and discussing financial obligations. The associate will explain regulatory forms, answer questions, and work in multiple systems during patient-facing interactions and telephone call receipts to complete accurate registration and support clinical workflow. This position requires understanding the practice and hospital strategic plan, supporting plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives within the scope of departmental expectations and role. The associate will represent Albany Medical Center (AMC) and support its ideals and principles, exemplify Albany Med CARES guiding principles, and champion an optimal patient experience. Ensuring patient and employee safety is a top priority, promoting a safe environment, and promptly reporting issues are also key responsibilities.
