About The Position

The Patient Services Associate II enhances the patient and customer experience by courteously and professionally processing patient arrivals and departures. The role obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures, verifies insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information, and supports an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms. The associate emphasizes prompt and courteous treatment of patients and visitors and contributes to the Jefferson Experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Customer service and/or patient-facing healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
Process patient check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and/or appointment scheduling via EPIC.
Obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
Maintain efficient practice flow and escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
Greet and interact professionally with patients and visitors by phone or in person.
Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
