About The Position

We are offering an opportunity for a Patient Scheduler to join our team. The Patient Scheduler is responsible for gathering and verifying patient information including patient demographics and insurance information for scheduled appointments at our facility and physician practices. Requirements

Ability to handle a large volume of outgoing and incoming calls
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills (effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution, and a warm demeanor)
1+ year working in customer service, preferably in healthcare
Experience with using everyday computer electronic technology tools (e.g., email, data retrieval, voicemail, and internet/intranet) as well as the ability to effectively utilize and enter information in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs
Communicates with medical and clinical staff to ensure the availability of facilities and staff and intake preauthorization’s at the time of scheduling
Communicates with patients and/or their families, as permissible, to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments
Intakes demographics, insurance information, and pre-authorizations as necessary for all scheduled encounters
