The Patient Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling clinical appointments for new and returning patients, coordinating laboratory work and diagnostic testing, and performing complex coordination among physicians, patients, nurses, and outside testing laboratories. This role also involves preparing patient charts, answering inquiries about clinic policies, assisting with training, processing transaction editing system (TES) files, performing medical coding, coordinating surgeries, and handling financial duties such as insurance authorization and billing assistance. The coordinator must also complete required educational programs and attend departmental meetings.
