About The Position

The Patient Safety Specialist assists the Manager of Patient Safety and Risk Management in the coordination of the Patient Safety and Risk Management program necessary to Methodist Health System (MHS) strategic goal of becoming a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting a facility on a day-to-day basis through program coordination; investigating, analyzing, and trending patient safety events and data complying with licensing, accrediting, and regulatory obligations with the objectives of enhancing patient, visitor, and employee safety; and protecting the assets of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field.
  • If licensed, must be able to practice in the state of Texas.
  • Certified in Patient Safety (CPPS) or equivalent or obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Patient Safety, Quality, and/or Risk Management preferred.

Responsibilities
