About The Position

The Patient Safety Specialist supports implementation and sustainment of a comprehensive patient safety program at the operating unit level. The role monitors safety events, identifies trends, supports execution of action plans, and promotes a culture of safety through frontline engagement, education, and participation in safety activities. The specialist collaborates with clinical and operational leaders, Mission Partners, and interdisciplinary teams to identify risks proactively, ensure follow-through on safety improvement efforts, and enhance reliability in care delivery. This is a salaried position with two open FTEs. Expected pay is $36.04–$42.40 per hour; actual pay is determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.

Requirements

Associate degree.
Two years of healthcare experience, including prior participation in a quality and safety committee, project work, or responsibility for investigating safety events.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.
Experience with event reporting systems and safety investigations.
Active RN license, current state license in field of study, Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
