About The Position

The Patient Safety Monitoring Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of patients remotely. The primary responsibility involves monitoring patients deemed a safety risk in hospital settings, redirecting patients when possible, alerting clinical staff to potential risks, and maintaining patient adherence to safety protocols through remote communication.

Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to identify risks and intervene or redirect patients as needed.
  • Capable of multitasking in high-pressure monitoring situations.
  • Experience using computer systems for data entry and tracking.
  • Proficiency in using computerized systems to document and track patient information and navigate patient monitoring platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare settings (e.g., hospital, clinic, skilled nursing facility).
  • Ability to obtain an active clinical license (i.e., MA, EMT, CNA, etc.) within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately conduct handoff process at beginning and end of each shift.
  • Continuously monitor patients for safety concerns and potential risks.
  • Communicate and engage with patients remotely to ensure compliance with safety measures.
  • Redirect patients to follow established safety recommendations from nursing staff.
  • Coordinate with bedside staff to discontinue monitoring when appropriate.
  • Notify the clinical team of any significant changes in patient behavior.
  • Accurately document monitoring activities.
  • Report and troubleshoot issues related to remote monitoring equipment.
  • Collaborate with bedside staff and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety policies and responding appropriately to emergencies.
