About The Position

Wilson County is seeking a Patient Relations Representative V to join their team. This role is crucial for assisting patients with billing and payment inquiries, explaining financial assistance options, verifying insurance, processing payments, and resolving account issues. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and possess experience in patient services, billing, insurance, or financial assistance. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and at least three years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program with one year of responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills, and abilities in office assistance/secretarial work.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing patient encounters for accuracy and completeness after visits.
  • Entering patient visit information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for billing purposes.
  • Ensuring timely submission and billing to Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance companies.
  • Working and resubmitting denied claims.
  • Ensuring correct posting of payments.
  • Collecting co-payments for insured patients and fees for uninsured patients based on a sliding fee scale.
  • Taking and applying payments to patient accounts in the EHR.
  • Balancing collected payments with daily batch reports.
  • Updating patient demographics in the EHR.
  • Recording and billing all components using ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Reconciling encounters with the EHR.
  • Calling, emailing, or faxing referrals as ordered by the Mid-level provider.
  • Ensuring a superbill is received and signed by the Mid-level provider for each client.
  • Making copies of forms for clients.
  • Scanning outside lab results or other correspondence into the EHR.
  • Preparing letters or correspondence for the RN clinic coordinator and/or Mid-Level provider.
  • Typing and printing prescription labels.
  • Reviewing EHR before clinic appointments to check insurance coverage, outstanding balances, or financial update needs.
  • Providing LabCorp confirmation spreadsheet of patients with/without insurance to the finance manager.
  • Reviewing death certificate reports and updating accordingly.
  • Serving as the main contact for Primary Care and Immunization billing and insurance issues.
