About The Position

This position is for the phone room, with answering phones being the primary responsibility. The role involves conducting daily interactions in a way that demonstrates a positive organizational attitude and effectiveness, modeling the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Behaviors and attitude should support the achievement of the system’s goals in Service, People, Finance, Quality, and Growth. Responsibilities include patient-related activities such as scheduling, check-in, checkout, and follow-up. The representative acts as a liaison between the physician, patient, facility, and insurance company, and handles collection of monies from patients at checkout. The role requires meeting all compliance standards and observing strict confidentiality regarding patients and their information.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college or vocational training.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a physician office.
  • Knowledge of EHR/EMR.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skills in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Access).
  • A professional, neat appearance with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of third party payers.
